Selection notes and FAQ
Use these definitions and the RFQ checklist so height, chassis, and panel data line up before you request a quote.
Height and load glossary
- Platform height
- Typical floor level of the work face where crews stand and stage panels.
- Cutter / former outlet height
- Outlet elevation of a roof-level roll former when forming feeds installation—specify separately from platform floor.
- Working height / reach
- The control point under the roof or along a wall you need to reach; may differ from platform or outlet height.
- Main platform vs extension zone
- Rated capacity can differ between the main deck and any extension zone—do not add areas or loads as if they were one unlimited floor.
RFQ checklist
Gather the following before you request a project quote:
- Country / region
- Process task (under-roof liner deck, roof-level roll forming, or vertical wall-panel deck)
- Building drawings or site photos (links or notes)
- Target height and which measurement point you mean
- Panel length × width × thickness and approximate weight
- Roll former and coil details (if forming on site)
- People expected on the platform
- Site access, ground conditions, and power
- Transport / container constraints
- Expected project duration
FAQ
Which height should I specify—platform, cutter outlet, or working height?
Say which measurement point you mean. Platform height is typically the floor of the work face. Cutter or former outlet height matters for roof-level roll forming. Working reach under the roof or along a wall may differ from both. DeckForm quotes from the control points you define, not from a single mixed headline number.
When should I choose crawler versus truck-mounted?
Crawler bases suit soft or unfinished site travel and frequent repositioning inside the footprint. Truck-mounted systems favor faster road relocation between sites when ground and access allow. Share ground conditions, gate width, and how often you move between buildings so we can recommend a chassis.
What should I send for a project quote?
Include country/region, process task (liner deck, roof-level forming, or wall-panel deck), target height and measurement point, panel length × width × thickness and approximate weight, roll former and coil notes if relevant, people on the platform, site access, ground, power, transport constraints, and expected duration. Photos or drawing links help when available.
Is this the same as a boom or scissor lift?
No. DeckForm systems are organized around steel envelope work faces—long panel support, elevated forming/feed, and vertical cladding access—rather than only elevating a person to a point in space. Generic MEWP categories are the wrong search path for this equipment.
Why don’t you publish a single height and load figure on every page?
Source configuration tables sometimes mix platform weight into load columns, use different height definitions, or derate at upper stages. Until a figure is cleared for public use, we keep conflicted numbers off headlines and size the machine from your project conditions.
Can you share named project references?
Site stills on this site are anonymous until customer identity, location, and commercial use are cleared. Ask in your quote request if you need references under NDA or after clearance.
Is there a checklist I can fill in before contacting you?
Yes. Use the on-page RFQ checklist under Resources, or open Request quote and complete the structured fields. That list matches what DeckForm needs to map chassis and work-face configuration to your job.
